Wake up and be thankful

Last 24 – The Walking Dead last night was excellent, full of suspense and drama. As always though the best part was spending time with our best friends, having dinner, and great discussions. The trees were watered and checked, for those of you planning on planting your own trees whether they are ornamental or fruit barring keep in mind they need attention every day. It is critical for root development and for the viability of the tree that they get enough water. I wasn’t able to get Episode 003 up loaded yet, but it is edited. I have a few things to add to the show then it will be ready for listening. Episode 004 shouldn’t take too long to edit, then I can start producing Episode 005. Once that is completed then I can submit to iTunes and Stitcher for public distribution. Today its back to work, recharged and ready to go.

Next 24 – Yesterday was the first day of spring, and already we have a need for a lawnmower. This evening the main task for the homestead will be to service the lawnmower and get it ready for the wife (she really enjoys mowing grass). It’s not that the whole yard needs mowed, but the splotchiness is such that it is time to start the reoccurring 3 hour chore of mowing the lawn.

Thoughts and Concerns – I really need to get some more mulch for the trees. I need to get the second mower to the shop to have it fixed. It makes it a lot easier to mow if both of us are mowing at the same time.

Quotes of the day – “When I first open my eyes upon the morning meadows and look out upon the beautiful world, I thank God I am alive.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (was an American essayist, lecturer, and poet who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century)

I wake up thankful every morning I see my beautiful wife and I am thankful. I take the dogs outside and drink my coffee and I am thankful. I look across our wonderful pasture and see the cows grazing and I am thankful. I feel the morning breeze on my face and I am thankful. Even as I contemplate going to work I am thankful. Because all of these and many more make up who I am, and I am truly and most sincerely thankful for who I am and who I will be. This is the day that the Lord has made, wake up and be thankful.
